Today one of my photos was featured in the Squarespace Circle monthly newsletter! Taken atop Fleetwith Pike it looks out over Dale Head, the first Lake District fell I ever walked.

A One Shot Mini Shoot is a great option for those who aren’t in need for a full shoot, but need a quick update of their headshots. The shoot takes 30 minutes in total and requires you to bring only one outfit. You’ll be able to pick 1 fully edited photo from around 50 photos with the option to purchase as many as you like on top of that. It’s also a great choice for those who are a bit reluctant about having their photos taken as it limits the time in front of the camera considerably.

It was a wintery day in February with just the right amount of clouds to take the harshness out of the daylight to get some photos with beautiful soft lighting as a result. It is my experience that the easiest way to have musicians be at ease while taking photos of them is to ask them to play, so we started off with some solo portraits at their instruments.

The Whitworth is not only one of my favourite galleries in Manchester, it also has some brilliant nooks and crannies perfect for photography. The huge windows in both the old building and the newly added wing shed an abundant amount of natural light which -on a typical Mancunian cloudy day- provides a flattering light that makes the subject glow from within.

Somehow we managed to do five fells in one small trip to The Lake District in April 2019. It’s almost like we knew what was to come the year after. By some miracle of added foresight I took photos of the same view on both my Canon Eos 7D Mark II and my iPhone 8 which gives the opportunity for some great side-by-side comparisons.

Knowing how to stand and what positions to take to look your best in a photo can save you a lot of frustration and gain you a lot of confidence on stage or during a photoshoot. 

Though it may seem basic knowledge, it’s easier said then done (and I speak from experience) to ‘stand in your light’ on stage. The most important -and perhaps evident- reason to do it, is to be seen. But there are other less obvious reasons to master it.

Sheona White is internationally renowned as ‘The Voice of the Tenor Horn’ and has performed and toured as a soloist throughout Europe, Asia, Australasia and the USA. We met a couple of years ago and she got in touch to see if I was free to take photos for her upcoming album.

Rannerdale Knotts is the second out of 214 fells in my journey to walk all the fells of the Lake District. With startlingly high confidence in my iPhone 8 and no foresight whatsoever, I set out for the Rannerdale Knotts without my DSLR. Weirdly, this ties in to my previous post about the differences, advantages and disadvantages of DSLR cameras and iPhone cameras. A common theme seems to be bubbling to the surface in these posts, almost as if I’d always planned for it..

A new website is a big project that needs a lot of planning for both parties, that’s why I thought it would be useful to make a timeline of the several steps it takes to get to the final delivery to give you an idea of how long your project might take.

Latrigg a great little mini-fell that won’t take up your whole day, so you can easily plan something else alongside it. I wouldn’t say it was my favourite fell so far, but the views over Keswick and Borrowdale are stunning and well worth the walk.

This trip, which we did in the summer of 2019, is still my number one holiday ever. It was far from perfect (trying to buy a house whilst on holiday was quite stressful), but the journey was incredible, the people were so friendly and around every corner there was a breathtaking view.

The online shop was always part of the original website concept for Simon Passmore but we waited to go live until there was relevant content to share that tied in with Simon’s YouTube channel.
