INTRO | A warm, minimal digital home for Olivia Van de Peer

When Olivia first reached out, she had a clear vision in mind: a calm, softly refined website that reflected the welcoming, professional feel of her practice. As a psychotherapist working across two locations, she needed not just an aesthetic space—but one that could also handle the complexities of her appointment schedule. Together, we created a bespoke Squarespace site that feels as thoughtful and grounded as her work.

ABOUT OLIVIA

Olivia Van de Peer is a psychotherapist based in Belgium, offering in-person therapy sessions across two locations. Her approach is rooted in openness, safety and gentle connection—making space for her clients to explore, grow and heal. With a background in creative practice and a strong eye for aesthetics, Olivia wanted her website to feel warm and considered, with a visual softness that echoed her practice space.

WHAT Olivia NEEDED

From the beginning, Olivia expressed her love for minimalist design with subtle character—think patterns, pastels, and soft touches of warmth. She was looking for a website that could mirror the feeling of stepping into a carefully curated therapy room: inviting, calm, and never clinical. Functionally, she also needed a way for new and returning clients to book appointments online, with some very specific scheduling requirements:

  • Sessions offered at different locations

  • A mix of 60- and 90-minute appointments

  • Certain session types only bookable at specific times

  • A recurring-client-only booking page behind a password

WHAT I CREATED

I designed a one-page website in Squarespace that prioritises clarity, space, and softness—letting Olivia’s voice and visuals shine. The layout is minimalist, but warm: grounded in off-white tones, accented by soft yellow, earthy rust, and forest green. Typography is kept simple and elegant, combining Inter and Playfair Display to balance clarity with a touch of personality.

We integrated a custom Acuity Scheduling setup to accommodate Olivia’s unique appointment structure. To keep costs down, I worked with just one Acuity calendar while still allowing for location-based slots and timing rules. I also created separate pages for terms & conditions, GDPR and privacy—plus a hidden, password-protected booking page that Olivia can share only with returning clients.

Finally, I applied basic SEO setup so Olivia’s practice can be found by the right people—quietly doing its job in the background while the site speaks for itself.

Highlights

  • Custom colour palette featuring broken white, soft pastel yellow, warm rust red & dark green

  • Minimalist Squarespace one-pager with ample white space and calming visual flow

  • Acuity Scheduling integration with:

    • One calendar for two locations

    • Mixed 60- and 90-minute appointment durations

    • Custom slot logic to avoid double bookings

    • Hidden password-protected page for recurring clients

  • Separate Squarespace pages for Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and GDPR

  • SEO setup for location-based keywords and basic search visibility

  • Subtle, tactile design that reflects Olivia’s practice tone: professional, open, and warm

Sarah Foubert

I’m a photographer and Squarespace web designer based in Altrincham, South Manchester. I specialise in portrait, landscape and opera photography and also offer a “complete website package” where I can offer headshots, photos of your business and design your new website so you can manage it yourself afterwards.

Over the years I’ve built a portfolio career as a professional photographer, opera singer, wardrobe assistant and singing teacher. I have a MMus from the RNCM, a Bachelor in Theatre Sciences and Musicology from Ghent University and I’m a qualified teacher. When my son was born in 2021 I quickly realised that an opera career wasn’t as compatible with being a mum as much as I would like, so I decided to change my focus completely to photography and web design.

I prefer working with daylight in casual surroundings while having a chat making sure you’re at ease and relaxed. It’s the little moments in between that make the best shots!

Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to work with me!
